Bugs are coming, sooner than we want!

Do you go camping? What about just hanging out with friends outside on a summers night? WE DO!! Living in a neighborhood with a bunch of kids, summer screams night games and late nights. The one thing I have started stocking up on it doTERRA TerraShield!

When it comes to outdoor protection, no defense is better than Mother Nature’s offerings. Among these are essential oils which provide a vapor barrier for plants, protecting them from potential threats in their environment. TerraShield Outdoor Blend contains powerful essential oils and other plant oils known to provide outdoor protection in a natural, safe way. We also have an oil without it being the spray. The oil alone acts as a barrier.

I like them both but the spray is easier to just spray on you outside!

Sore Throat? Tis’ the season!

Sore throats are horrible! They hurt, they make you feel lousy and frankly….they are just plain annoying!

What I love about doing essential oils is the ability to share! I love sharing them! I love when a neighbor calls up and asks for my opinion on what their family should do about a sore throat, cough or any other annoying illness that comes up.

I have found a great gargle that works for that crazy sore throat. Here is your recipe for the day….you ready?

1 drop of Melaleuca

Benefits:

  • Renowned for its cleansing and rejuvenating effect on the skin

1 drop of Onguard

Benefits:

1 drop of Lemon

Put it into a small glass of water and gargle it all the way back in your throat.

This will help take away that pesky pain in the back of your throat!

Ear Infections….does your family get them?

Do your kids get ear infections or ear aches? Have YOU ever had them? I’m not discrediting how it is for kids, but it is so painful for adults too! I, all of a sudden started giving more sympathy to my kids when they got ear aches. Luckily for us, I can always catch and start to help treat ear infections when they first come by putting a little bit of Melaleuca on a cotton ball and putting it in the ear that hurts. Normally by the time my son wakes up in the morning, his ear is feeling so much better.

I have a great recipe for a roller bottle too, which I am in love with! Now the awesome thing is….I found these amazing labels that I use for my Rollerbottles that help remind you of the main ingredients in them, and because essential oils can be overwhelming when first starting out, they also remind you of good places to apply them! Amazing right?!

When I first started out using oils, I was told “less is more!”. You don’t have to use a whole bottle of your essential oil to create different recipes. Most recipes only take a few drops of each oil when you are creating them. Fractionated Coconut Oil is key to keep on hand! That is what I use for all of mine.

For this recipe you will use the following:

6 drops of Basil

6 drops of Lavender

6 drops of Melaleuca

Fill the rest of the 10ml bottle up with Fractionated Coconut Oil

They have even created cute names for them so that you remember EXACTLY what this blend is for!

I think I’ve mentioned this before, I LOVE ESSENTIAL OILS! If your child wakes up in the middle of the night with an ear ache, go right to your oils and grab the rollerbottle you’ve already made up! Super easy! Remember, you can start getting oils today! Let me know when you are ready.

What are you doing this weekend?

This weekend I am getting my oils sorted out and organized! I like having everything in one place. I have an oil box, oil bag, oil travel bag and a drawer full of oils. They are everywhere! I’ve gone a little crazy with them actually. So this weekend I wanted to get organized with them, make my blends for different symptoms we can come across. I want to be ready! Ready to knock it out of the house, so to speak!

Listen, we have a big family, I think you already know that. 🙂 So when an illness comes into out house, it can linger forever! The kids think they think they need to drink out of my glass, then pass it around. It’s horrible! Neighbor kids come and go, then come back and….well they stay! So this weekend I’ve been making up some different roller bottles.

This coming week is going to be RECIPE week! I’m going to post a new blend each day for you to try out. I have Flu Shot, an Immune Boost, something for sleeping, something for stomach and more. I use some labels for my roller bottles that really help remind you of the key ingredients. They are awesome and you know me, I’m going to share fun things I find! You can get the labels here.
